valley of the sun

An alpine valley in the Mosquito Range, south of Breckenridge, CO. 6.24.06

I thought I'd post this picture. I took it on a Saturday excursion into the mountains. I just love how this picture makes me feel. And really, that's why I love photography - every good picture produces a very deep longing within me. If you care to take the time, let me know what sorts of ideas and feelings this photo stirs within you.

Enjoy.

It is good to finally hear a child of the Lord speak of His creation in such a way that one knows you are stirred by its majesty and unspoken words. For years, I wondered if I should ever meet a soul whose heart dwelt in the breath of heaven, the land, and all it awakens within us. It's like waiting for the one the Lord has planned for you. You know there is someone out there who is right for you, just as though you know there are those in existance whose connection to God's creation is their heartbeat. It's just not often you encounter those who do possess such powerful emotions towards God's creation, or at least its rare where I'm from to hear many speak of it. Friends often laugh and wonder if my free spirit will ever be tamed and quenched by experiences I have with nature. Yet, my heart searches for a type of freedom that hungers for its journey, a type of freedom that allows me to spread my wings, completely trust in the Lord, and soar to the Lord's music. Your writings reach the soul, and it is to that I am grateful.

A moment ago I prayed to the Lord to help me find clarity in my life, as it is so deeply needed. My heart is aching for His answers or rather his unanswered prayers. Your writings helped me to connect with my journey in life and have for this moment eased my suffering in knowing there are others whose heart is longing for its beautiful destiny whether that is reaching God's children throughout South America and Africa, photography, music, the corporate world, or politics. How incredible is He that ruleth over nations and carries us in the palms of his hands.
